Nice to meet you — I'm Jade.

My love for film and media began with my Nana. Some of my most meaningful memories are sitting beside her watching The Walking Dead, completely absorbed in the characters, the world, and the stories. I became interested not only in the stories themselves, but in everything that brought them to life, the performances, camera work, editing, sound, and the decisions that shape how an audience experiences a story.

My perspective on storytelling became even more personal after being diagnosed at 14 years old with three autoimmune diseases: Ulcerative Colitis, Primary Sclerosing Cholangitis, and Autoimmune Hepatitis. Living with chronic illness showed me how many experiences and stories remain unseen or even misunderstood, especially when people do not fit the image of what someone with a chronic illness is “supposed” to look like. It made me realize how much representation matters, not only seeing yourself reflected on screen, but seeing the complexity, individuality, and humanity behind experiences that are reduced to a diagnosis. That realization became one of the most important reasons for why I want to create.

As I continue pursuing a career in directing and television and film, my goal is to tell stories that are centered on perspectives that are overlooked. I want to use film as a way to give underrepresented people a platform and create stories that allow audiences to understand lives and experiences beyond their own.
